  I used to come here a lot back in the day, but I hadn't been here in at least 5 or 6 years. I think management changed, because I didn't see the Portuguese guy that used to work there behind the counter. None the less, the food was still delicious!
  
  We ordered the chicken and rib combo with rice and french fries. The portions are large and you can easily feed 4 people with one combo.
  
  This place isn't somewhere I would recommend coming on a date though because it's set up as more of a take-out restaurant. The place can definitely use some updating.
  
  The staff was very nice and welcoming.
  
  By the way, THEY DELIVER!

  The restaurant looks like a dirty cafeteria.  Walls are bare and drab.  Corners are filthy.  Floor doesn't look washed (interestingly the bathroom wasn't too awful).  Eating here is depressing.
  
  The guy working the cash register, an old man whom I assume is the owner or at least a manager, is supremely unfriendly.  Never smiles, never thanks, never makes you feel welcome.  Gruff.  Unpleasant.
  
  The smell around the restaurant is divine, but the food is overcooked.  I didn't actively hate the food, but I'd never come here a second time.  You DO get a lot of food for your money, but I'd rather not eat than eat here.
  
  Rice: B+
  The one thing here that actually was pretty good (but if rice is the only good thing on the menu, you're in trouble!)
  
  Black Beans: B
  Not bad.
  
  Pork Ribs: C+
  Horrendously overcooked.  Dry to the point of being barely edible.  Nice charring and chargrill flavors, but you have to choke it down, it's so dry.
  
  Sausage: B
  Like the pork ribs, it's overcooked and dry.  The only thing that saves the sausage is that it's extremely fatty, so being overcooked can be overlooked.  Still, I'd rather eat well-cooked sausage than overcooked sausage.
  
  French fries: C+
  Soggy and tasteless.  Not bad if you throw them into a toaster oven and make them crispy.  But the way they come from the kitchen is piss-poor.

  Not that great.
  The food is average, but what really made give this place a 2 start review is the customer service ; it is horrible.
  They don't let you talk, hang up the phone on you all I wanted to know was where my food delivery was and the guy who answered the phone was rude  as hell and just said "The guy left" and immediately hanged up the phone.
  I will never order food from this place again.

  Great place for some really great tasting food! The prices are so reasonable too. No time to cook or running late? Well forget fast food or pizza, this definitely the place to call!!!
  (Get extra rice too, you'll regret it if you don't!)

  Right now I'm trying really really hard to think of some positives for this place. I'm no expert on Portuguese bbq, but when you overcook the meat, it's really hard to eat.
  
  I work a block from this place and for years wondered if the food was any good. I decided to ignore the low Yelp ratings and visit this place because I needed some quick grub. When I entered Luso's I saw a large family eating at the back and a bunch of local getting takeout and I was feeling good about my decision.  In the back I can see a huge grate of chicken and ribs being cooked in an indoor grill. Smoke and aroma of cooked meats fill the restaurant.  The interior of Luso's is nothing to write home about. It's old and dated and reminds you of a small cafeteria with a grill on the other side of a partition.
  
  I gave my order to an indifferent employee who spoke and understood English. I ordered a steak sandwich and Combo chicken & pork ribs (half order). I know I know that's a lot for lunch, but I figured I can eat some of it for dinner as well. For about $17 you get a lot of food! Both orders came with fries and rice.  
  
  Got back to work and noticed I did not get any napkins or sauces. Not a big deal, I have plenty of napkins.  The steak sandwich was basically 5 slices of very dry pieces of steak on a large roll. No sauces or toppings (extra). I ate about half of the sandwich and tossed the rest  out because it was pretty bad. The general flavor of the food here is a light layer of smokiness and salt. Maybe if I was starving I would eat it. The chicken and ribs also had the charbroiled flavor and salt.  I could not discern and particular spice that may be part of Portuguese BBQ. As I stated earlier though the meats were mostly dry. Ribs were not fall off the bone and had a layer of char that was hard to eat. The dark meat chicken was good, but the white meat was mostly dry.  You would need to eat it with some barbecue sauce and something to drink to get through the meal. The best part of the meal was the fries.  It reminded me of the McDonald's soggy fries. The rice was ok. It was soft with mild flavor.
  
  It's amazing how much meat this place barbecues.  They must get a lot of local customers otherwise they'll wasting a lot of money by making too much food.  I can see locals on a limited budget coming here because of the quantity of food you can get for the money.  I don't feel so bad leaving a one star review, as they must be doing pretty well customer wise.  I must be the odd ball who doesn't appreciate the Portuguese barbecue from Luso's.
